New Modern Warfare 2 glitch makes you the MVP [1]
So, in hindsight, not having a public beta test for “Modern Warfare 2″ might not have been such a good idea.
Currently a video showing a custom built loadout is making it’s rounds on the web, getting quite some traction on digg, so you might have already seen this, but it’s important to get the word out. If this loadout becomes any sort of popular you might as well stop playing “MW2″, because no one stands a chance against this.
The kit consists of: ‘One Man Army’ perk, an Assault Rifle with a F2000 grenade launcher (a.k.a. ‘noob tube’), and the ‘Scrambler’ perk.
Now, hit the break and watch what happens. CONTINUED →
Modern Warfare 2 Mythbusters [Comments Off]
If you are having sleepless nights because you are pondering if an EMP strike can cancel a tactical nuke or if a bursting fire hydrant can kill you, you should probably watch the video posted after the break.
This fan-made “Modern Warfare 2″ Mythbusters video is not only educational, it also goes to show how meticulous the level of detail in Infinity Ward’s work is.

Activision: Modern Warfare 2 had “the biggest launch in history across all forms of entertainment” [1]
This is why Bobby Kotick gets paid the big bucks: “Modern Warfare 2″ made $310 million in 24 hours, according to Activision’s internal estimates, which account for approximately 5 million copies sold on launch day, and this is only for North America and the UK.
Talking to Gamasutra, Cowen Group analyst Doug Creutz suggests an impressive number for the worldwide total:
“We believe U.S. sales likely will amount to 55 percent of the worldwide total, implying a first day worldwide estimate of roughly 7 million.”

Review: Modern Warfare 2 [1]
This console generation has been littered with first person shooters. This is not a lamentation, but a fact. The genre has proven to be profitable time and time again, and developers and publishers alike have no plans on slowing down to create shooter after shooter, after all, it is hard to create the sense of thrill and the visceral experience these games provide without a first person perspective and a gun on the screen at all times.
After a slew of imitators have hit the market in the past 2 years, including Treyarch’s relatively successful take on the series, “World at War”, it is again Infinity Ward’s turn to prove that the formula they have established with “Modern Warfare” has enough freshness in it to keep fans happy and to rekindle the love with the doubters and the wary.
IW: “Kotick’s a great guy.” [Comments Off]
There’s a wonderful interview with Infinity Ward’s Joel Emslie, Lead Character Designer, on Gamasutra about ‘bringing “Modern Warfare 2″ to life’, which highlights a lot of interesting aspects of the creation of this year’s undoubtedly biggest blockbuster. However, one quote sticks out:
Finally, I know there’s been some chatter about this online – but has Bobby Kotick really succeeded in taking all the fun out of your video game development process?
Joel Emslie: No way. Absolutely not. Kotick’s a great guy.
As much flak as Bobby Kotick gets in the press, his employees seem to be quite fond of him. Worth remembering when reading next week’s earning call, which will surely be full of outrageous statements from Activision’s CEO.
Modern Warfare 2 PC gets delayed 2 days [Comments Off]
PC gamers rejoice! It seems the game all of you don’t want to buy in the first place, has been delayed. Infinity Ward and Activision are on a roll! The “Modern Warfare 2″ Steam page shows the following information:

So, what’s the status my PC gaming brethren, could you hate these guys any more? Thought so.
Leaked Modern Warfare 2 gameplay is a bit gross, controversial [8]
New “Modern Warfare 2″ gameplay reaches us via france, where some people have obtained early copies of the game (sounds familiar?).
We will post a short description and the video after the break, even-though it appears that the scene shown appears to be relatively early in the game. We warned you.

Modern Warfare 2 features 3rd person multiplayer mode [Comments Off]
And you thought omitting dedicated servers was weird. Get a load of this one: Via a leaked youtube video from the PlayStation 3 version of “Modern Warfare 2″ comes the news that there’s a 3rd person mode in the game.
While you can’t play the game in 3rd person all the time, the multiplayer features 2 playlists, 3rd person deathmatch and team deathmatch, that place the camera behind the player.
We have a video of it after the break, courtesy of Kombo. CONTINUED →
