New Borderlands DLC titled The Secret Armory of General Knoxx [Comments Off]
Gearbox has announced that “Borderlands” will be seeing new DLC in the near future, titled “The Secret Armory of General Knoxx”, this will be the biggest add-on for “Borderlands” yet, featuring not just new weapon and new missions, but also raising the level cap by a yet undisclosed amount.
G4 has the full scoop.
Borderlands DLC #2: Mad Moxxie’s Underdome Riot [Comments Off]
After successfully delivering on “Zombie Island” (on PC now as well), Gearbox has announced another piece of DLC for “Borderlands”: “Mad Moxxie’s Underdome Riot” is a brand new game mode, which is very similar to ‘Firefight’ found in “Halo 3: ODST”. Gearbox’s Jon Hemmingway elaborated on the game-mode a bit further:
“It’s all about this crazy Moxxi character, and she’s running these tournaments. You go in and fight waves and rounds of monsters, and then she starts changing it all up. She throws out what are called ‘Moxxi Maxims,’ these rules that dramatically change the way the game play. She’ll be like, ‘Vampire Rule!’ which makes it so that the player’s health is constantly draining, but every time you get a kill you get a whole bunch of health back. Now all the players are like, ‘Holy crap, I have to play amazingly aggressive,’ so you have to charge in before you basically bleed out. Another example, she’ll go ‘Shotgun Challenge,’ where all shotguns do bonus damage and all other guns take a penalty.”
Also, you get a Gun-Bank where you can store all your weapons. “Underdome Riot” will run you a cool 800 MS Points or $10/€7,99. The Xbox 360 is getting it on December 29th while PS3 owners will have to hold out without “Mad Moxxie” until January 7th. Why? I don’t know.
Borderlands DLC Zombie Island hits the streets [Comments Off]
If you roll with the Xbox 360, you can buy the new “Zombie Island” DLC for “Borderlands” here. If you’re a PS3 kinda guy, you will have to wait until the PSN monkey feels like updating, which should be anytime now.
Sorry, PC gamers!
The whole shebang will run you 800 Microsoft Points, $ 10 or € 10, and will require 1GB of space on your precious, precious hard-drive.
Go buy it, take tomorrow off. Cancel your evening plans. Order some pizza.
Borderlands 2 “a no-brainer” [1]
In an interview with vg247, Gearbox’s Creative Director Mike Neumann commented on plans regarding the future of the “Borderlands” franchise:
“Everyone here loves the franchise, and it seems like the public is really coming back with praise and love. So yeah, if everything makes sense, Borderlands 2 seems like a no-brainer to me.”
He also remarks that despite there being some (watercooler) talks about it, “nothing so far is planned”, so don’t count your Skags just yet.
Borderlands’ Zombie Island DLC dated [1]
We hope you haven’t forgetten about “Boderlands” just yet with all this hubbub surrounding “Modern Warfare”, as Gearbox has just announced (via 1UP) that the first DLC, “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned” will be hitting PSN and Xbox Live on November 24th and it will set you back $/€ 9,99 or 800 Microsoft Points respectively.
No news yet on a PC release. Maybe 1 week later?
We’re hoping for a a raised level cap, ‘Ding! Champion’ is so close I can almost feel it.
Gearbox working on resolving Borderlands PS3 issues [1]
PlayStation 3 gamers who have picked up Gearbox’ “Borderlands” might be in for quite a surprise, nay, shocker: There’s some connectivity problems with the game. To be more exact, it seems that for now, there is no way to invite your PSN friends to your game. But worry not, as the guys at Gearbox are hard at work rolling out a solution that will alleviate these issues. Scott Velasquez on the official Gearbox forum:
“We’ve identified the problem and are working on a fix. Believe it or not, the friends feature was heavily tested by Gearbox and 2K. However, this particular issue we found could have never manifested itself in our or 2K’s test environments.”
While it is probably very upsetting, it is good to know that Gearbox are aware and working on the fix. We will update you once the patch goes live. (via G4)
Pitchford: “Borderlands selling out everywhere” [Comments Off]
It seems the industry and gamers in general are playing a game of inverse-Simon-Says with Michael Pachter, as Randy Pitchford, CEO and president of Gearbox, was happy to report via Twitter that “Borderlands” is doing pretty well:
Getting reports from everywhere that Borderlands is selling out. If you want a copy, grab one fast. Supply and demand.
It damn better be. It’s quite good.
