Lost Planet 2 gets earlier release date, new demo

Capcom has just informed us via PR that much-anticipated and less icy “Lost Planet 2″ is going to be hitting shelves May 11th — which, yes, is one week earlier as previously announced.

Also, a brand new demo is going to hit both Xbox Live and PSN; you will be able to obtain early access codes from www.lostplanet2game.com so that you can download the demo on March 31st (360) or April 1st (PS3). If you don’t care, are too lazy or hate codes, you will have to wait until April 21st/22nd to get your hands on the demo.

Of course you can also go play last year’s “Lost Planet 2″ demo right now, but it’s safe to say that the game has undergone some changes.

Halo: Reach to feature pink spartans adorned with unicorns

Ok, this isn’t really news, but it’s good that pink spartans are confirmed for “Reach”, news is however, that Bungie has revealed what they call the “All-Encompassing Player Investment”-System for “Halo: Reach”.

What this means is that you can collect Credits in both single- and multiplayer by simply playing the game or completing challenges which are generated daily.

For a more detailed look, you can view G4’s coverage of this system.

Valve is planning to announce something official soon, but have sent out a series of promo pictures. This is the least subtle announcement of an announcement ever.

You Beta play some Blur

In other beta related news, while you guys were probably hungover all day, I worked like a busy worker bee to uncover a limited exclusive free offer of inconceivable worth to enter the “Blur” beta on Xbox 360. For free. Since your head is still probably a little mushy, I’ll give you a step-by-step rundown of how this is going to work:

  1. Cut a hole in a box
  2. Register for a free one month trial to IGN’s Founder Club membership. You will need a credit card, and it might show up as a charge of 0 dollars. I am kidding, no one charges you 0 dollars, but I was not kidding about the credit card part.
  3. Put your junk in that box
  4. Sign up for the “top secret” beta on fileplanet.

The whole ordeal requires less than 5 minutes of your time, and I don’t think I can stress enough how awesome “Blur” is. Do it for the children.

Also, the “Blur” website finally has a section where you can download a picture of a (or multiple) hot chick(s) and use it as your desktop background. Not exactly my thing but I thought I’d let you know.

You can now play some Starcraft II Beta

Some dudes have released a crack so you can play some “StarCraft II” against AI without actually being in the beta.
For us non-beta-participants, it’s probably as good as it gets, so I suggest you take it, even though the AI is reportedly a little too easy. Or, as I like to call it, “just right”.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 all trailered up

As promised earlier, here’s the trailer for “Super Mario Galaxy”, fresh from Nintendo’s american Game Summit.
Let’s be honest here, if this does not look fantastic to you, you’re dead inside. It has Yoshi for crying out loud — whose tongue seems to be controlled with the Wii-Remote’s pointer.

Trailer is after the break. It’s a bit sad I still have to tell you these things after all these years.  CONTINUED »
