Left 4 Dead maps coming to Left 4 Dead 2?

NeoGAF member Red Scarlett has spotted something odd while trying to get into a game of “Left 4 Dead 2″ on the PC this evening: The maps Death Toll and No Mercy appeared to be selectable with a download link pointing to Valve’s very own Steam Store. Shortly thereafter the maps seemed to have been pulled and the disappeared from the available games screen.

We’ll ask Valve for comment but those guys are probably still sleeping — it is about 3AM in Washington State as I write this. We’ll let you know once we hear anything.

So, remember “Tribes”? Yeah, that was a damn long time ago. So a couple of dudes who worked on that sat down and made a game about tanks playing something that looks like soccer… which in my book is awesome. If you disagree you might be devoid of a beating heart.
