Zone of the Enders Sequel on top of the list, says Kojima [Comments Off]
Hideo Kojima is best known for his work on “Metal Gear Solid”, but in hardcore circles, he is also revered for a series that had 2 outings on the PS2 so far: “Zone of the Enders”. Now, he hasn’t made one in a while, but maybe soon?
“[...] of course Zone of the Enders is one of the… on top of the list. We are really considering it.”
Now, I wouldn’t call Kojima a liar, but remember when he said “Metal Gear Solid 4″ was going to be his last “Metal Gear”? Grain of salt, guys.
Cryengine 3 will destroy you, new video is proof [Comments Off]
Anyone else getting really bored by palm trees and the beach? No one? Neither is Crytek, as they just unleashed the new trailer for CryEngine 3 into the world, which specializes in palm tress and beaches — and destruction thereof. I think the 1st youtube comment puts it in perspective:
OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I came
And engine so good, it makes people come. That should go on the box art. Do engines come in a box? I guess not.
Crytek also touts that the engine is Next-Gen Ready. Basically, they stole the HD Ready logo and slapped ‘next-gen’ on it. Never forget, Next-Gen Ready does not mean it’s Full Next-Gen.
We have the video for you after the break. It’s got procedural destruction, man.

Uncharted 2’s ice cave is beautiful, boring [Comments Off]
Naughty Dog decided to bore the european press to tears with a 20 or so minute demo of the ice-cave stage of Uncharted 2.
Not that there is anything wrong with the game, it still is the most beautiful video game to date, but watching a dude climb for 20 minutes without being able to interact with it is not exactly exciting.
Most notable achievement: not a single ‘jaggie’ on a 100+ inch screen.
Brütal Legend lawsuit settled [Comments Off]
The Associated Press reports that the lawsuit to delay or hinder the release of EA and Double Fine’s Metal-Epic “Brütal Legend” is now settled and the game is scheduled to be released on time.
Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman Vania Stuelp said attorneys for Activision notified the court of the settlement agreement with Double Fine. Attorneys for the companies did not immediately return calls seeking comment on Thursday.
While details about the settlement are unknown, one thing stands undoubtedly clear: Rocktober is saved.
Mark Rein gets “Interviewed” [Comments Off]
I don’t even know what of this interview to quote. Ellie Gibson is a maniac… and a gaming journalist… but a maniac.
Eurogamer: Do you ever look at him [Cliff Bleszinski] and think, ‘I, Mark Rein, would like to be a bit cooler? Perhaps I should get a gold chain and start calling myself Marky R?’
Marky R: No.
If you only read one interview this week, make it this one. Please.
Are Motion Controls superior? [Comments Off]
Stephen Totilo muses about Nintendo’s motion control successes and short-comings.
A shake of a hand replaces what could have been the press of a button. In game after game, motion control presents a different option, but one that seldom seems better.
As right as Nintendo was about so many things, maybe it was wrong about this.
Stephen is right on the money — again. Personally, all I want out of my Wii is No More Heroes 2, which will have perfectly good, as in a minimal amount of, motion controls.
