PS3 hacked by the same guy who hacked the iPhone

George Hotz, an american hacker has managed the unthinkable — the same man responsible for your not-at&t iPhones has found a way to circumvent the PS3’s hypervisor and make the PlayStation 3 play homebrew and pirated games.

He states, the hack is 5% hardware and 95% software based. The BBC News has more on this.

Sony has yet to comment on the issue, but we will post their response as soon as there is one.

3 years without being hacked is pretty damn impressive. And on the brightside, theres no way it will be as bad as PSP piracy.
