Hands-On: Bayonetta

We might already have a review-copy in the house, courtesy of german retailers breaking the street date, but we still couldn’t help but sit down with the preview-code “Bayonetta” on display at yesterday’s SEGA event and whip some angel ass. A lot of it.

Hit the jump for our thoughts.

Ok, here’s what is going to happen: Take an envelope that fits money. Write “Bayonetta” on it. Put however much games cost wherever you live in it, then store this envelope until January 8th.

On said day, leave the house, walk or drive or use a combination thereof to your nearest videogame retailer and buy a copy of “Bayonetta” (preferrably the 360 version, mind, we’re still wary of whatever the PS3 version is going to look like), hand the money contained in the previously assembled envelope to the cashier.

Now, proceed to play the living hell out of it. Bliss and absolution shall follow.

If this game doesn’t sell, I will hang my head in disappointment, but not in shame, as I have done my best to spread the word just how awesome it is.

man i hope they fix the ps3 version. The demo wasnt too bad, but compared to the 360 version its a joke.

they were talking about a patch, but they were all pretty dumbfounded if there will be any improvements or not.

I hope they at least fix the framerate up a bit. I definitely dont want to miss out on this game.

for what it’s worth, the part everyone was so worried about, the falling clocktower, is a glorified playable video, you don’t even have a health meter — unlike in the demo.

I am sure Digital Foundry will be able to tell, how “bad” the situation is with the final release way before it comes out, so I don’t think anyone needs to be worried.

I will report on whatever he finds, anyway.

You can buy the game at Saturn or Müller in Vienna.

Saw it there today
