Early copies of the Xbox 360 version of “Assassin’s Creed 2″ seem to indicate that included with the game comes a code to download the demo to 2010’s “Splinter Cell Conviction.
The codes distributed with the game do not appear to be random, as they only spell out Conviction in 1337-speak (“CONV1C71ON”). Pr377y b4d455.

Also, Roman numerals. No reason.

Borderlands DLC – The Facts [Comments Off]
IGN got to take a look at the new DLC for “Borderlands”, titled “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned”. In their preview, posted after the break, they mention some interesting factoids:
- 6-10 hours of gameplay
- 50 new quests
- a stronger emphasis on narrative
No word as of yet, if they are going to raise the level cap but we are crossing our fingers, but common sense says if there wasn’t one, they would probably have announced that beforehand. My money is on ‘yes’. I don’t have a lot… of money. But what I have, is on ‘yes’.
“The Zombie Islands of Dr. Ned” drops on the 24th of November on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, and it’ll cost ya 800 space bucks or $10/€10.
The PC version will follow suit sometime after.

Activision: Modern Warfare 2 had “the biggest launch in history across all forms of entertainment” [1]
This is why Bobby Kotick gets paid the big bucks: “Modern Warfare 2″ made $310 million in 24 hours, according to Activision’s internal estimates, which account for approximately 5 million copies sold on launch day, and this is only for North America and the UK.
Talking to Gamasutra, Cowen Group analyst Doug Creutz suggests an impressive number for the worldwide total:
“We believe U.S. sales likely will amount to 55 percent of the worldwide total, implying a first day worldwide estimate of roughly 7 million.”

SEGA: No Aliens vs. Predator for Germany [Comments Off]
SEGA is anticipating that “Aliens vs. Predator” would have to get modified so heavily for the german market, that it decided not to pursue distributing the game in Germany, PC Games Hardware reports.
Poor Germany. It must truly be the bane of their existence, having to order from the UK and thus saving as much as 50% on games. Then again, last time we saw it, the game didn’t exactly set our world on fire. That’d be a saving of 100%.
EA frustrated with the Wii [Comments Off]
EA is a bit sad. Not just because they’re still bleeding money like crazy and had to let 1,300 people go, but also because their Wii games aren’t selling as well as they’d like.
John Riccitiello was whining about this in yersterday’s conference call:
“To be honest with you, I think the Wii platform has been a little weaker than we had certainly anticipated. And there is no lack of frustration to be doing that at precisely the time where we have the strongest third-party share. Frankly, I think they need more beats in the year than they get out of a first-party slate – to be able to have the Wii software platform perform as well as they would like. We are building the products that I think the most highly rated on the platform and at this point in time, generating the most revenue of any third-party platform.
Wii is where we are missing it and so I really do think that the opportunity exists to find different ways to partner with first party in this case to sort of help establish in the minds of the consumer legitimacy of some of these other brands when they are going out multiplatform because very, very few multiplatform titles are succeeding on the Wii.”
Here, Mr. Riccitiello, have some cheese with that. Ok, so here’s the deal: No one cares about your dumb Wii games. Keep making EA Sports Active and you’ll be golden. Every dollar wasted on another on-rails shooter is a dollar that could’ve gone towards someone’s salary — preferably one of those people you just fired.
Yes, there are 50 million Wii consoles out there, but most people have theirs either hacked or are busy deciding between “Raving Rabbids” and “Carnival Games” to play with their grandmother, bless her heart.
Oh, in totally unrelated EA news, you know what else is going to bomb, and bomb hard? “Skate 3″. Fuck “Skate 3″.
