id’s Rage might ship without dedicated servers

id’s flagship title “Rage” might not feature dedicated servers on the PC, just like “Modern Warfare 2″, John Carmack announced today speaking to Variety’s The Cut Scene.

“It’s not cast in stone yet, but at this point no, we don’t think we will have dedicated servers. The great thing is we won’t have to be a pioneer on that,” he says. “We’ll see how it works out for everyone else.”

Splendidly, that’s how.

Just to put this in perspective for non-PC gamers out there: This is as if your mom had just breastfed you with poison.
