New “Modern Warfare 2″ gameplay reaches us via france, where some people have obtained early copies of the game (sounds familiar?).
We will post a short description and the video after the break, even-though it appears that the scene shown appears to be relatively early in the game. We warned you.

Split/Second is still impressive [2]
“Split/Second” is currently making the rounds at the Eurogamer Expo in Leeds and leaving happiness and kittens everywhere it goes. VG247’s Patrick Garrat was quite enticed by the build that was shown:
Surprise of the show. It’s the most instant fun we’ve had with a car and a games console for a long time.
Proof you say? Well, hit the reply for a video. continue reading →

Modern Warfare 2 features 3rd person multiplayer mode [Comments Off]

Rumor: Zenimax buying Valve? [Comments Off]
In this weeks GamesIndustry.biz newsletter, titled Digital Survival, Rob Fahey suggests that rumors are out there that Zenimax might be buying Valve:
However, it’s also worth watching closely what happens to Steam in the coming months. Unconfirmed industry scuttlebutt suggests that Zenimax – the parent company of Bethesda, which made headlines back in June when it acquired legendary PC studio id Software – is still on the acquisition trail, and has been making eyes at “Half-Life” creators Valve across the bar.
It remains to be seen if this acquisition will come to fruition but it certainly is an interesting suggestion. It’s important to keep in mind though, that Valve is a privately owned company and can’t just be bought.
Left 4 Dead 2 Hard Rain campaign gameplay video bonanza [3]
Some videos of ‘Hard Rain’, one of the new campaigns in “Left 4 Dead 2″ have started to hit the net. While we are still trying to stay cautiously optimistic on this one, these videos make it hard for us to contain our lust to rip some zombies to shreds with a chainsaw.
The rainy setting and the moody light(n)ing is a true step up from the predecessor and, to be honest, it creeps us out. It doesn’t creep us out as much as “Paranormal Activity”, but that is probably for the best. We are still sleeping with the lights on.
Check out ‘Hard Rain’ after the break. continue reading →
Insomniac: Fans think Resistance 2 was a failure [Comments Off]
“Resistance 2″ was one of the biggest PlayStation 3 titles last holiday season. While it performed relatively well and garnered good reviews, most fans were still disappointed with the series’ progression to ape “Modern Warfare” with a lot of it’s design choices. In an Interview with VideoGamer, Insomniac’s James Stevenson explains why Insomniac thinks they have failed their fans:
“The critics loved Resistance 2. Some people didn’t like it, but for the most part… And the Metacritic’s higher than Resistance 1. So we got better reviews than Resistance 1, but the overall opinion of it is that it was a failure by fans, that Resistance 2 was a failure, because maybe the expectations were so high for it.
But that weights on you more. We talk to journalists a lot but we deal with our fans every day – and when they are disappointed… Reviewers are playing lots of games. They’re supposed to be critical.”
There’s always “Resistance 3″ to make up for that. Pull a “Devil May Cry”, Insomniac!
