Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker gets trailered

Oh my, Kojima wasn’t kidding, this is classic Metal Gear. The new “Peace Walker” trailer is full of win. The PSP exclusive game is coming 2010 and is being developed by the team that made “Guns of the Patriots”. Except for Ryan Payton. Who is a traitor.

We have the trailer for you after the break. continue reading →

Assassin’s Creed 2 – PC Version Delayed

Okay, look. I told myself that when I would write an article, I’d be nice and composed. Simple task right? But when stuff like this happens I just feel like I’ve gotta… *exhale* Okay. I’m good.

So, Ubisoft, via Twitter, said the delay gave the devs more time to “deliver the best quality game to you.”

FINE! BE THAT WAY!

Flips the conference table and storms out.

PSP & PSN Wrap up

Today, in Tokyo, Sony announced that the PSP-3000 SKU will drop in price to $169. I’ve got my eye on picking one up with MGS: Peace Walker.

Also, Lost Planet 2, Ninja Gaiden demo and POWER MOTHER FLIPPING STONE UP ON PSN.

I’m sorry. I feel the need to waste a metric ton of quarters again.

Dead Rising 2: one screenshot, trailer

Here’s some “Dead Rising 2″ media. It’s not a lot, but we need to take what we can get. The screenshot, well, you’re looking at it. It’s that one up there. Click it, it gets pretty huge. That’s what she said. Anyway, I’m not an expert, but there seems to be some good old fashioned zombie killing going on there. Fine by me.

After the break there’s a video. Decidedly less awesome than that screenshot, but a video none the less. continue reading →

Cross game voice chat coming to PS3?

Seems like VG247 has a man on the inside, at Sony of all places. I hope they’re not paying him too much, as Sony can’t keep a secret even if they’re not being infiltrated.
According to this source, cross game voice chat may be coming to the PlayStation 3 as soon as October.

Sony has informed developers of plans to incorporate cross-title voice chat in PS3 play by the end of October. The feature will be added in Firmware update 3.10, we were told.

Doesn’t sound too unreasonable. This is where I’d say I’ll ask Sony for comment, but what are the chances that they’re going to confirm this? I’m just going to pretend I did and they chose not to comment.

Borderlands: Claptrap Part 2 [Comments Off]

Before Seth takes over the nightshift, I leave you with this hot-out-of-the-oven clip from “Borderlands”. It features fan-favorite robot claptrap trying way too hard to be funny, screaming a lot and just being generally obnoxious. Might be entertaining in short bursts, but dedicating an entire series of videos to the guy? Oh, well, who am I to judge, I can’t even write a coherent blog-entry.

Game’s still awesome, out next month. Hit the break for the video.

New No More Heroes 2 videos introduce new playable character, work

Shinobu, one of the assasin’s from the first part, is going to be the 2nd playable character in “No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle”. Of course, we have now idea how much or if at all she differs from Travis, or how she fits into the story, but I am sure Suda has figured out crazier things in his life. The video is after the break.

Also after the break are 2 videos of the new jobs. If they look straight from a NES game, you are watching the right ones.

Fresh Alan Wake Screens from TGS

After the resurfacing of “Alan Wake” this year at E3, you simply can’t go anywhere without Remedy shoving the game in your face. Except GamesCom, where the game was mysteriously absent. Hooray for TGS then, as Remedy not only released new screenshots, but let a few journos lay their eyes on a chase-scene.

Kotaku’s Stephen Totilo was there, and seemed to like it:

Some had complained that the introduction of possessed enemies into the game’s action at E3 had exposed the grown-up thriller they wanted Alan Wake to be as merely another horror shooter full of monsters. The Remedy developers said not to worry.

“We don’t have crab monsters or giant spiders,” Remedy managing director Matias Myllyrinne told me. “We don’t want to take it too far and have these all-powerful monsters coming at you.” [...] He referred to potential Alan Wake customers as gamers who are “a bit more mature” and said they would be satisfied

Remedy seem to get it. Next year’s still far, though, so until then, hit the jump for our all-gorgeous 720p gallery of epic awesomeoness. Seriously, no hyperbole here.
