The Last Guardian screenshots, oh so lovely

Cute things are good, so “The Last Guardian” is right up our alley. Team ICO’s first PS3 game is shaping up to be something truly special, just look at the new screenshots we unearthed from some Japanese site (via vg247).

Yet again, we went the extra length and put it all up in a convenient little gallery for you. We’re like Santa’s little helpers, except it’s not christmas and we’re full grown.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 is a good idea

Seems like someone at SEGA is a genius: bringing “Valkyria Chronicles 2″ to the PSP might’ve been their best idea since … wow, that’s a tough one. Publishing Platinum Games stuff, maybe? Anyway, Joystiq went hands on with the game and they walked away impressed:

The mixture of real-time and turn-based combat proves to be an ideal handheld gaming experience, mixing the casual pace of a turn-based game with the excitement of a shooter. Valkyria Chronicles is more about tactics, less about precision aiming — a good thing to consider when adapting a title to Sony’s handheld.

Also, they mention the newly structured battlefield: Due to the limitations of the PSP, the big battlefields from the PS3 brethren have now been divided into a handful of skirmishes going on simultaneously. Intriguing, to say the least.

PSP go comes alive this week, have another look!

If you were to ask me “what’s new, pussycat?”, I’d be very much inclined to ask you, why on earth you would call me a pussycat, because I am so… not. On the other hand though, I would probably tell you all about this week’s launch of the PSP Go. We’re all about the PSP Go this week. We’ll let you know what’s on the PSN Store, what games are awesome, as well as how, you know, everything goes.

The system comes out on the 1st in the US and on the 2nd of October in Europe. We put together a little gallery so you can take it all in, again.

Capcom fans the fires of Super Street Fighter 4 rumors

The facts are these: Capcom just put up a teaser site, it’s called “New Warrior”. Then there’s this tweet, announcing an announcement today at 5pm Japan time. Also, this picture. It almost clearly shows “Super Street Fighter IV” in the banner on the right, as well as T. HAWK on the screen.

Also, my fight-pad is glowing hot today. All signs point to it. We have reported on this in the past, but it seems today is finally the day.

Ueda rooting for Ico Bundle

Fumito Ueda told 1UP that he’d like there to be a PS3 that comes bundled with ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Put’em both on the same disc it’d sell wonderfully.

Confession time. I’ve never played Ico or got very far in SoTC. So, how’s about someone mail me a copy and I’ll get even more excited?

Ueda had this to say:

You’re a jerk! You’ve never played either of those all the way through?

Hey! That’s not the clip that was supposed to go there. Roll the right one!

“I always thought they were designed for PS2 and should stay there, but lately, I’ve been thinking it would be nice to provide the games to other platforms to reach more users.”

Sound good? I’ll be waiting for the UPS guy.

Mass Effect 2 introduces Subject Zero

BioWare just introduced a new character for their Sci-Fi Epic: The female Subject Zero. We seem to have a bit of a badass on our hands, and a biotic to boot, and a possible love interest for Commander Shepard. Also, belt-bra.

Game’s out some time early next year. Watch the video after the break at your own peril. continue reading →

Avatar “Gameplay Montage”-Trailer

Hey, it’s Saturday! Are you going to party? I thought so! Are you going to invite James Cameron? I agree, it would be awkward. He, famous director and producer of movies, you, reading wearetheinternetz in your pajamas. It’s cool though, because we have a li’l something something so your Saturday does not have to be entirely James Cameron free!

Ubisoft just released a “gameplay montage”, their pretentious words, not ours, of “James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game”, so you can either watch that, or rent Titanic. Or Aliens.
If you chose the former, hit the break. continue reading →
