Cross game voice chat coming to PS3?

Seems like VG247 has a man on the inside, at Sony of all places. I hope they’re not paying him too much, as Sony can’t keep a secret even if they’re not being infiltrated.
According to this source, cross game voice chat may be coming to the PlayStation 3 as soon as October.

Sony has informed developers of plans to incorporate cross-title voice chat in PS3 play by the end of October.The feature will be added in Firmware update 3.10, we were told.

Doesn’t sound too unreasonable. This is where I’d say I’ll ask Sony for comment, but what are the chances that they’re going to confirm this? I’m just going to pretend I did and they chose not to comment.
