Ratchet goes into space [Comments Off]
Today, over at the PlayStation.blog, Insomniac is showing off first footage of space exploration in “Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time”. Basically, the game is now “Mass Effect” with Pixar-style graphics, 60 frames per second, ridiculously huge and inventive guns and furry protagonists. Ok, actually it’s nothing like “Mass Effect” — but you do get to explore space.

Buy, play Halo 3: ODST, don’t get banned [Comments Off]
After a whee bit of turmoil, the smoke has lifted and Microsoft was happy to announce that if you are one of those lucky basterds who got their hands on one of the early copies of “HALO 3: ODST” that have appeard in France, you are free to play it, unless you arrrr a pirrrate.

Clarity on the ODST thing. We will not be banning legitimate customers from Xbox LIVE who play early.
At the end of the day, you’re still french though. I’d rather wait for 3 more weeks and … be, you know, not french. Just kidding. Oh, no, not the balls, please.
Wolfenstein is really good [Comments Off]
Activision owned studio Raven was hit by lay-offs this week, making a two-project studio out of the former three-project studio. It’s a shame, as the just released “Wolfenstein” is a really good game. Here’s a choice quote from Gamespy’s review:
If you’re into WWII shooters — and judging by the sales of every single Call of Duty title ever, you are — but you’re looking for something with a little twist to it — which, judging by the sales of twisty straws, you are — and you don’t mind the color green — and judging by the number of Irish people in the world, you don’t — you should get yourself a copy of Wolfenstein.
Bobby Kotkick might be the devil and everything that is wrong with the world, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore this game. Especially since it plays in Eisenstadt. Which is where I live. Except they spelled it wrong. Isenstadt. Awkward.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Spec-Ops Gameplay Video [2]
You know what I like? People visiting my website. You know what people like? “Modern Warfare 2″! As luck might have it, some sneaky kid leaked 2 new gameplay videos of this year’s Call of Duty iteration. One’s from the co-op mode called spec-ops, the other is of the single-player in Brazil’s capital.

Xbox 360 Elite now cheaper than PS3 slim [Comments Off]
The war has begun. As of today, the Xbox 360 Elite with a 120 GB hard-drive costs you € 249 (199 GBP, $299). Ridiculous. You might want to buy an extra HDMI cable though, as those are no longer included in the bundle.
The Xbox 360 Pro will be phased out to prevent “SKU confusion” — I guess you would be able to find a sweet deal on those until supplies last.
GamesCom 09: Borderlands [Comments Off]
Randy Pitchford is all smiles when he talks about his baby, “Borderlands”. It’s really hard to argue with him, the game looks like more fun then any one man can handle.
The 4 player co-op role-playing shooter brings a lot to the table. It really is the best of both worlds. continue reading →
GamesCom 09: Heavy Rain [1]
“Heavy Rain” is a hard game to sell. “Heavy Rain” is barely a game to begin with, muses David Cage as he presents the game to the journos that have made their way to the Radisson SAS a few meters down the street from the revered halls of GamesCom.
We are shown a new scene in which Ethan Mars, a newly unveiled protagonist, spends an afternoon with his son. Cold stares, blaring sounds from the TV and a saddening atmosphere are the main characteristics of this scene.
Ethan Mars, the 4th and last character to be shown of the game before release, once hot shot architect, now a broken man who lost his older son in a crowd and subsequently in a car accident. continue reading →
