Are Motion Controls superior? [Comments Off]
Stephen Totilo muses about Nintendo’s motion control successes and short-comings.
A shake of a hand replaces what could have been the press of a button. In game after game, motion control presents a different option, but one that seldom seems better.
As right as Nintendo was about so many things, maybe it was wrong about this.
Stephen is right on the money — again. Personally, all I want out of my Wii is No More Heroes 2, which will have perfectly good, as in a minimal amount of, motion controls.
Console bar-mitzvah, spooky, scary. Apple TV turning into a console? [Comments Off]
PC World and Pachter seem to believe so.
“The ‘Trojan horse’ is that the device would be an Internet access hub, and that they could then sell movies and other products. What Apple cares about is getting into the living room, and an Apple TV with games has a higher likelihood of succeeding than an Apple TV without,” Pachter added.
As far as games are considered, I still think it was a mixture of ubiquity and luck that the iPhone turned out to be as successful as it is. The fact that the Apple TV is considerably weaker than both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 isn’t helping either… their headstart non-withstanding.
Which Fall/Holiday Game will flop? [Comments Off]
As found on NeoGAF.
many games got delayed because fall/holiday got pretty packed. on the other side there is still a huge bunch of games which comes out in the next few months. i wonder which of them might bomb.
A few too many many mentions of Brütal Legend for my tastes, and lots of GAFfers wishing bad luck to Activision titles. Modern Warfare 2 actually might end up negatively affecting the sales of everything else this holiday season — hardly Infinty Ward’s fault though. Maybe that Bayonetta delay to 2010 was for the best.

Command and Conquer 4, the final chapter in the Tiberium Saga will be released exclusively for PC and will do away with traditional basebuilding, says designer Samuel Bass in an interview with Gamespot.

The game will require you to be online at all times during gameplay, but will ship with no form of DRM. And yes, fret not: Kucan will again be represing the role of Kane. Read the full interview at Gamespot.

I love him (Travis), and I want him to be a huge star. That’s why I’m working very hard to make this game as interesting as possible. Maybe in the future, we can see him fighting alongside Link in the next Smash Bros. [laughs] That would be great.
So Suda, speaking to Nintendo D-Pad.
