RAGE a little — ok, very slow on ps3

John Carmack about “RAGE” in the latest issue of EDGE:

“The PS3 lags a little bit behind in terms of getting the performance out of it,” John Carmack told Edge. “The rasteriser is just a little bit slower – no two ways about that.
The RSX is slower than what we have in the 360. The CPU is about the same, but the 360 makes it easier to split things off, and that’s what a lot of the work has been, splitting it all into jobs on the PS3.”

What this means is, that while PC and Xbox 360 will run “RAGE” at 60 frames per second, the PlayStation 3 version is running at 20-30.
Look, I am not a scientist, not to mention not a rocket scientist, but a difference of up to 40 frames sounds like a lot! No word from Carmack if this will be fixed until launch. Hey, at least it comes on a single disc on PS3, right? Wrong.
