New Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Trailer, Release date [0]

The new Modern Warfare 2 Teaser Trailer is the real deal. The “official” sequel to Infinity Ward’s 2007 smash hit (no pressure, guys!) is set to be released on the 10th of November 2009 and will probably make all games ever obsolete.
Take a look at the trailer on the official website.
Apparently, there is more to the teaser though! Take your time, scrub through it, maybe you will find a hiden gem. Or a cookie! Mhm, cookies…
MadWorld PAL version is… boxy [0]

Many Wii owners and prospective MadWorld buyers were rightfully disappointed when it was announced that the title will not ship with support for 480p. Many still took the pluge, only to find out that the european version not only does not support 480p, but neither does it do 60hz… or full-screen, for that matter.
Keep in mind, MadWorld is still a very, very fun game and possibly the best game to come out this year yet, but still, if technical details as this bother you, maybe you should play No More Heroes again. You know what? Just play No More Heroes again anyway, even if you decide to buy MadWorld. Good stuff.
On a more serious note, we will ask SEGA for comment first thing in the morning.
New Battle.net is live, StarCraft II beta too [0]

As of today, the new version of battle.net is live. Blizzard’s internet multiplayer matchmaking system has now been revamped to accomodate your Blizzard account, which means this will be the only website you will need, ever.

As a little incentive to sign up, you will automatically opt-in to the StarCraft II Beta, with invitations going out right this second. It is not known, just how many people will get invited, but we are hearing it’s random.
Make sure, you accept Beta opt-ins in your account preferences as seen in the screenshot above. Good luck!

Lost Planet 2 platforms being evaluated [0]

If you are one of those two to three PlayStation 3 owners that are still asking themselves (and Capcom!) what the deal is with Lost Planet 2 and its alleged Xbox 360 exclusivity, you may start to find answers in the near future.
According to Jun Takeuchi, who is the producer of the project — so if anyone, he should know — they are “currently investigating other platforms.”
Which platforms that entails is unsure, but I guess the PlayStation 2 is the best selling console ever, no?
MadWorld is on the loose! [0]

SEGA would like to kindly remind you, that MadWorld, the first title in SEGA’s partnership with Platinum Games, is now available in stores all across the world, and starting today, also in Europe.
You can bitch about the lack of hardcore titles on the Wii all you want, but if you are one of those people, and you don’t pick this one up, you’re part of the problem.
That being said, this game comes with a glowing recommendation and the wearetheinternetz seal of approval.
Resistance 2 and PixelJunk Eden DLC at GDC [0]

Resistance 2 and PixelJunk Eden share more similarities than one might think! First of all, they are both beloved franchises that are exclusive to Sony’s behemoth of a console, second of all, and this is more important: Both are slated to receive additional content in the near future — this content being announced next week at GDC.
Dylan Cuthbert from Q Games confirmed his presence, as well as PixelJunk Eden Encore’s in a playable form at GDC. If you still haven’t checked out this trippy platformer, this is as good a time as ever!
Insomniac is pretty tight lipped when it comes to the additional R2 content, but given their history, a map-pack is your best bet in this regard. Remember when we still cared about R2? Good game that one, sadly, no Killzone 2. Some new co-op missions could rekindle that love, though!
Sign up for PSN, get Wipeout HD for free [update] [0]

Well, the PSN now went from free to costing -€ 17. A registration to Sony’s online service between the 16h of March and the 18th of April now nets you a free copy of Wipeout HD, probably the fastest racing game ever created (and personal favorite.)
I attached the (german) press-release after the break, but this should work in all SCEE territories — or just sign up with a german address.
Update: Sony PR just asked me to clarify the following: This will only work if this is your first PSN registration. Fake accounts need not apply. Just buy the game, kids. It is that good.

Giant Bomb shows you MadWorld [0]

Look, if you are not excited for MadWorld yet, there is nothing that wearetheinternetz can do for you. You are pretty much a fun-nazi. Now, to try to get you in the mood, Giant Bomb has a 20-odd minute first look for you, with plenty of playtime to convince you that you need this game in your life.
What’s not to like; it was made by the same geniuses who have produced titles such as Okami, God Hand and Viewtiful Joe. The story was written by a man who usually works on the likes of Final Fantasy.
If this video can’t convince you however, nothing will — if so, the exit is to your right, Hitler.
